Last night I had a dream. For several months, as I was going about my daily routine, I walked by a young girl in a bed in a store. I was so busy and preoccupied with my own activities of getting in, getting my job done, and getting out that I had not ever taken the time to stop and talk with her.
I was asked what was wrong with her and I didn’t know, So I inquired and found out she had cancer in her leg, and I had been passing by her for five months! I felt terrible for this young girl who was probably only about 7 or 8, and I decided I should stop and pray.
I was hesitant but finally went to pray for her. As I did, I saw another older, more mature person just finishing praying for her. I heard a voice say, "Don’t pray because he has already prayed and he has more experience and healing anointing than you do, so just leave now."
I ignored the voice and stayed to pray. I asked the Lord about her and the thought come that she had anger toward her brother. I tentatively began by asking her if she had a brother.
She said “yes.”
I began trying to discover if there was anger in her heart toward him but I was interrupted by a rationally-focused person and told I had no right to be asking such questions.
I hesitated, left, and moments later decided to go back and pursue prayer, asking questions and then praying for healing. I told her about my brothers and how sometimes I was hurt by them and became angry with them. I asked if that had ever happened with her.
I was interrupted again, plus she was hesitant to get involved in the conversation. So I left again, and again came back to pray for her. This time I took her head on my lap and caressed her hair as I spoke softly and tenderly to her. For the first time I was experiencing compassion for her. Yes, now finally I was on the right track.
As I was awakening from the dream I realized I needed to ask more questions: "Tell me about your brother? Have you ever gotten mad at him?" I needed to get her talking and be a good listener as I looked for the root event that precipitated the anger and thus the disease.
I then needed to talk about the flow of God’s healing power, and how we remove obstacles which hinder this flow into our lives and body. We identify the hurt, the pain, and the anger and release it through forgiveness. As we stand praying, we forgive everything against everyone so that God’s love, mercy and power can flow deeply (Mk. 11:24,25). We use inner healing as necessary.
I awoke and journaled out the following interpretation
Mark, this is my message to you as to how to heal the sick. All the elements are here:
- Pay attention to life and to the needs of those you pass.
- Ask for My wisdom.
- Receive and honor My thoughts and let them lead and guide you.
- Enter into a compassionate conversation with the needy individual.
- Through divinely ordained questions, discover the issues in their life which are barriers to My healing stream (anger, resentment, bitterness and unforgiveness).
- Help them remove these through inner healing prayer and deep forgiveness.
- Release My healing power.
Resist the voice of the accuser who says you are not good enough to pray, you are not to stop and get so involved in their life, and you don’t have time in your busy schedule to take the time to observe and lovingly meet the needs of those around you.
Behold I have spoken. Behold it is to be done.
