A Snack or a Meal: The Choice is Yours - Journaling Prayer by LaWanda

LaWanda – O Jesus, precious Lord, the song, “Gratitude”, touches me so.  How can I not be grateful to you?  You are everything.  You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way and in kindness, you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past.  You will never leave me or loosen your grip on my life.  Thank you, Lord – so many things to be grateful for, I just can’t list them all.  But please, Lord, don’t let me EVER forget them.  Remind me again and again through your word, a song, my Ebenezer, Journaling Prayer or your presence.  O Jesus, thank you for your lovingkindness toward me.  Thank you my sweet Jesus, precious Savior, Mighty King.

As we sit here together, Lord, I feel your hands on my shoulders.  They are gently resting there.  All those thoughts that you have of me, more than all the sand on all the oceans’ shores, are being poured into me, Lord, and I am UNDONE!  Your love, so great, so all encompassing.  O Lord, make me into your image.  Let nothing remain in me that does not serve you.  O Jesus, how I love it when you wrap me up in your love.  Thank you, Lord Jesus, thank you!

Jesus – LaWanda, my dear one, how it delights me to see you undone by My love.  There really is no other response once you have tasted and seen My Goodness.  Only those who do not know Me could respond otherwise.  But when you have been touched by Me, your heart becomes sensitive to My love and all that is My lovingkindness is magnified.   My mercy, magnified.  My grace, magnified.  My faithfulness, magnified.  My goodness, magnified.  My steadfast love and devotion for you, magnified.

Sometimes My heart breaks when my children are satisfied with a snack when they could have had a meal.  They fill up on appetizers on Sunday and think that they are full.  When I became your Savior, that was just the beginning, but too many people think that is all there is, missing everything I have for them in between.  Things that only time in My presence will reveal.  It is My good pleasure to give you the Kingdom, dear one, but once the door is opened through salvation, you must walk through it to discover all I have for you.  It’s like buying a ticket to Disney World and then just sitting inside the gate, not going into the park.  This is not My desire for any of My children.  I have made the whole park available to you, but you must avail yourself of the opportunity.  It delights Me to see you take advantage of what I have for you.  Your desire to know Me pleases Me and because you come to Me in the secret place, I will continue to pour Myself into you.  Did you hear that, dear one?  I will continue to pour Myself into you.  And in your undoneness, you will find Me.

I recently found a verse of Scripture that perfectly describes Journaling Prayer.  Like happens so often, it is a verse that I had read many times but…this time…it was different.  I felt like Jesus was saying to me, “This verse perfectly describes what happens in Journaling Prayer.  Share it.”  The verse was Ephesians 3:18-19 in the Passion Translation.  If you already do two-way journaling, you will immediately see the truth of what He said.  It truly is the essence of hearing the voice of God in this way.  If you do not yet do two-way journaling, I hope that it will inspire you to try it and experience for yourself..."The great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions,” and an intimacy with Jesus greater than anything you can imagine.

Ephesians 3:17-19 TPT

“Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences – the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions.  How deeply intimate and far-reaching is His love!  How enduring and inclusive it is!  Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding – this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!”
