The unbelievable situation we find ourselves in.

Can you define “woman” or “man”? Is it right to punish evil-doers? Is it okay for a nation to have borders? The inability to get clear, biblical answers to even the most basic questions is hard to understand.

Some believe only their denomination is going to heaven. Some take relish in slandering others. Some have minds filled with perversion and evil.

Probably all of us have tainted thinking in one form or another. I’ve held a few of the above beliefs in my earlier years.

How does this happen? Is it possible to restore such a person? Let’s see what the Bible says.
A darkened mind is functioning without God’s revelation

Futile mind – So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind. being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. (Eph. 4:17-19)
Defiled mind – To those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. (Titus 1:15)
Depraved mind – And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper. (Rom. 1:28)
Fleshly mind - Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind. (Col. 2:18)
The sound mind is enlightened - It is functioning with God’s revelation

Enlightenment comes when you ask God for wisdom, and have a pure heart (Jas. 1:5,6; 4:2,3,6).
Reasoning together with God. - “Come let us reason together (Isa. 1:18). We receive the mind of Christ through words of knowledge, wisdom, and prophecy – gifts of the Spirit. This involves fixing our eyes on Jesus and letting the flow guide our thoughts and pictures.
Mind is guarded - God grants peace beyond comprehension, which guards our minds.
Three simple steps to a sound, enlightened mind

Love truth - They did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false (2 Thess. 2:9-11).
Meditate on Scripture (Ps. 1:1-6).
Have Emmaus Road experiences - Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. (Lk. 24:45). Have walks and talks with Jesus where He illumines your mind as you journal out what He is sharing with you.
